Admission Policy for Supporting Women’s Applications and Participation

Purpose

This policy aims to promote gender equality by ensuring fair access, support, and encouragement for women in applying to, being accepted at, and participating in Al Maarefa University.

Scope

This policy applies to all undergraduate and postgraduate programs offered at the university.

Admission requirements for New students

  • Obtaining a secondary school certificate (Natural Science) or its equivalent from a school inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia or abroad.
  • Should not exceed more than five years after obtaining secondary school certificate.
  • Obtaining the required grade specified by the Council of Colleges in the secondary school certificate, General Aptitude Test (GAT) and Scholastic Achievement Admission Test (SAAT) by the National Center Assessment, or its equivalents (Scholastic Assessment Test -SAT) according to the following:
  • Medicine and surgery: least 90% in secondary school certificate (GPA) and at least70% in the General Aptitude Test and Scholastic Achievement Admission Test or 1100 in SAT.
  • Other majors: least 80% in secondary school certificate (GPA) and at least 65% in the General Aptitude Test is and 60% in the Scholastic Achievement Admission Test or SAT 950.
  • Obtaining the required English language skills in each specialty. Medicine and Surgery College requires at least 40 score in the Oxford test or its equivalent from other standard examination (TOEFL iBT 40, IELTS (ACADEMIC), 3.5 or STEP 62) , and study English program at colleges.
  • Exhibiting a good conduct and behavior.
  • Should not be dismissed from other college or university due to disciplinary reasons.
  • Passing any exam or interview required by the college for admission.
  • Passing a medical test as required by each specialty by completing the medical examination at the approved hospital.
  • Should provide permission from his/her employer to continue as a fulltime student if he/she is working.
  • Pay non-refundable admission fee
  • Pay tuition fee which is non-refundable if withdraw from the colleges
  • Satisfy any other requirements by the colleges that may be announced during admission period.

Required documents

  1. An original high school certificate (Natural Sciences).
  2. A copy of General Aptitude Test (GAT) score and the Standard Achievement Admission Test (SAAT) score or Scholastic Assessment Test ( SAT).
  3. An original copy of English Language test results –TOEFL iBT/IELTS (ACADEMIC) / STEP- (if available).
  4. A copy of a valid ID with the original for verification.
  5. Four recent photos (6×4).
  6. For non-Saudi students from Saudi mothers, a copy of a valid ID of the mother and the birth certificate of the applicant.
  7. A copy of the guardian’s valid ID with the original for verification.
  8. A copy of the guardian’s family book.
  9. For Transferring Students
  10. An official academic transcript.
  11. Approved academic courses specifications from previous University/College.

For Diploma Holders

  1. An original diploma certificate.

Open Admission to the Bachelor of Industrial Engineering Program

Al Maarefa University announces the opening of registration for the bachelor’s program in industrial engineering for the academic year 2023-2024. This program aims to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills in physical sciences, mathematics, and computer, to enable them to develop their abilities and apply them to integrated systems of people, materials, information, equipment, methods, energy, and environment.

The Industrial Engineering program offers a variety of specialized majors and functional areas, enabling students to excel in different fields upon graduation. The program includes the study of exciting topics such as operations research, information systems, computing, random information, logistics, and management engineering.

Graduates of the Industrial Engineering program will be qualified to work in a variety of areas, such as sustainable production design, supply chain process optimization, production quality control, management control systems development, and many other areas that require expertise and advanced engineering thinking.
