STUDENT GUIDANCE AND COUNSELING
– Follow-up students academically by holding counseling sessions to uncover the causes of academic struggles and/or recurring absences, whether social or psychological, and preparing a treatment plan for each case separately.
– Raising awareness among students by producing preventive awareness brochures, stimulating media channels, and establishing and organizing enlightenment programs.
– Providing individual counseling for students: by following up on cases that need support, whether social or psychological, by organizing individual counseling sessions that the student counselor conducts in complete confidentiality, and preparing a treatment plan to solve the problem.
– Respond to students’ consultations and concerns with complete confidentiality via email.
The Continuing Professional and Personal Development Unit
With the purpose of providing the students and staff of the university with academic and social services, UM created The Continuing Professional and Personal Development Unit, which has the function of providing all the necessary support to the staff of the university, both students and staff, to have professional development, optimal academic in the daily educational sessions.
Psychological and social counseling
1. Providing individual counseling for students by following up on cases that need support whether social or psychological and by organizing individual counseling sessions that the student counselor conducts in complete confidentiality, and preparing a treatment plan to solve the problem.
2. Conducting counseling sessions on appropriate CBT for each case.
3. Holding family counseling sessions as required in some cases.

Within the framework of the efforts made by the World Assembly of Muslim Youth in following up the students of the symposium scholarships studying in Saudi universities- including students who fall into the bottom 20% of household income group in the country- , the Department of Educational Affairs has prepared a program of visits and communication with the educational institutions in which the students of the symposium grants study, and in this context, a delegation from the Department of Educational Affairs consisting of the Head of the Scholarship Department, Mr. Abdullah bin Ali Al-Hamali, and Mr. Hussein bin Ahmed Al-Amoudi, visited the National Knowledge Colleges in Riyadh to discuss a number of common topics related to the educational process.
During the visit, officials in the faculties met and discussed a number of educational and academic issues related to the students of the symposium.
The delegation also held a meeting during the visit with the students of the symposium scholarships studying in the faculties, and a lengthy discussion took place, during which they answered the students’ inquiries and tried to find solutions to some of the obstacles that they may face during their studies.
It is worth mentioning that the World Assembly of Muslim Youth has been linked to the colleges by a joint memorandum of understanding for more than five years and has (22) male and female students studying in colleges, including (13) male and female students studying in human medicine and nine female students in pharmacy. Note that most students are currently studying in the internship year and their academic grade is not less than (excellent).
It is worth noting that the Global Symposium has 150 students within the scholarship program, studying in a number of public and private universities within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Induction day for internship students
The College of Applied Sciences, represented by the Clinical and Technical Training Committee at Al Maarefa University, held an induction day for the internship students under the auspices and presence of the Acting Dean of the College of Applied Sciences, Dr. Khaled bin Muhammad Al-Jarallah.
The event is opened with a speech from the Dean of the College of Applied Sciences, Dr. Khaled Al-Jarallah. After that, Professor Wael El-Sherbiny gave a lecture on how to succeed in a personal interview.Dr. Tariq Al-Tom presented a lecture on his biography and its importance in the future. His teacher Hanin Al-Ahmadi from King Fahd Medical City presented a lecture on how to be respectful in the workplace. Followed by, Professor Saja Al-Murshid who presented her lecture on emotional intelligence and its importance for success in the work environment. Then, there was a lecture on the laws of training and internship by Prof. Dr. Muhammad bin Abdullah Al-Zamil. Finally, Dr. Saad Al-Asiri gave a motivational speech to both male and female students which included information about the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties, based on his experience in the area.
In conclusion, all the speakers were honored, and supplication was made to Almighty God for success and steadfastness for all internship students.

UM Mental Group Care
The university offers a service of psychotherapy by psychology for patients with depression, group care for university students, group therapy for psychiatric patients through art. Albilad signs an agreement to finance educational services for students of knowledge colleges
In continuation of strengthening strategic partnerships with success partners in the educational sector, Bank Albilad signed an agreement with the Colleges of Knowledge of Science and Technology to finance educational services for students of knowledge colleges who meet the conditions and criteria of Bank Albilad, where tuition fees are paid in easy installments without profit margin or additional fees.
The agreement was signed on behalf of Bank Albilad by Mr. Ihab bin Mahmoud Hasouba, General Manager of Retail Banking, and Dr. Zaid bin Mohammed Al-Zamil, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Colleges and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Knowledge Colleges, at the colleges’ headquarters in Diriyah on Monday, October 31, 2016, in the presence of a number of Bank and college officials.
Mr. Ihab bin Mahmoud Hassouba, General Manager of Retail Banking Sectors at Bank Albilad, stressed during the signing ceremony that the education of children is the real and most important investment for parents, which in turn reflects positively on sustainable development in our dear country. Accordingly, Bank Albilad sought to provide innovative and easy solutions for parents to pay tuition fees easily and flexibly through a program dedicated to financing students of knowledge colleges.
